Mark Pessin, DVM
Originally from New Jersey, Hospital Director Dr. Mark Pessin has cared for pets at Fairview Veterinary Hospital as a general practitioner since 2000.
Dr. Pessin attended Muhlenberg College and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1977. He also holds a Master's Degree in Wildlife Studies from North Dakota State University. Dr. Pessin continued at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Pessin accepted an internship position at the Animal Hospital of Pittsford. After completing his internship in 1989, he remained with Monroe Veterinary Associates, caring for pets as a general practitioner for Irondequoit Animal Hospital from 1990 to 1996. He then served as the director of Companion Animal Hospital from 1995 until 2000, when he joined the Fairview medical team.
When he's not busy with his many duties at the hospital, Dr. Pessin enjoys hiking, golfing, going to concerts and playing sports with his two sons. He enjoys the companionship of three dogs - a pair of Chihuahuas named Taz and Lucy and a Mastiff named Buddy - and two cats, Tip and Gohan. He also has a barn for a small number of sheep and miniature donkeys!
